POSITION SUMMARY

Develops, evaluates and enhances manufacturing processes to support safe, efficient and repeatable production of precision components. This position works closely with production, quality, maintenance and supply chain to improve product quality, reduce manufacturing costs, resolve technical issues and meet customer delivery requirements. This role supports a regulated manufacturing environment, including aerospace, defense, and medical applications, with emphasis in machining, tooling, process documentation and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide hands-on engineering support to resolve manufacturing problems involving tooling, equipment, materials and process performance.
• Develop, document and improve manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
• Establish and maintain production methods, operation sequences, tooling requirements, set up instructions and process parameters.
• Prepare and maintain manufacturing routings, work instructions, setup sheets and other controlled production documents.
• Evaluate engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements to determine manufacturing feasibility.
• Support CNC machining, Swiss turning and other manufacturing operations as needed.
• Design or specify fixtures, tooling, gauges and manufacturing aids.
• Evaluate equipment capabilities, capacity constraints and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare technical and cost justifications for tooling and capital equipment investments.
• Identify critical process variables and establish controls to promote consistent product quality.
• Investigate scrap, rework, downtime and cycle-time issues; implement and verify corrective actions.
• Collaborate with operators and supervisors to improve setup methods, troubleshoot recurring problems, and standardize effective practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams during the manufacturing launch of new product introduction including technical development, project schedules, goal establishment, execution, and results evaluation.
• Assist and train others in engineering production to support employee development.
• Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and accepts constructive feedback.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years’ manufacturing engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in precision manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Working knowledge of manufacturing process development, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Experience creating and maintaining clear technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, organizational and project coordination skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with production employees, supervisors and management.
• Knowledge of and familiarity with CNC programming and multi-axis machining.
• Experience manufacturing tight-tolerance components with specialty metals.

Pay Rate: The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience with the industry, education, geographic location, etc.
