Registered Nurse PACU

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

• 
  Continuously assess patients respiratory and cardiac status during recovery from anesthesia.
  
  
• 
  Implement physician orders promptly while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist with transfers and alarms as needed.
  
  
• 
  Evaluate treatment effectiveness, contributing to updates or revisions in the care plan collaboratively with the healthcare team.
  
  
• 
  Document all care activities, medication administrations, and patient responses accurately and timely.
  
  
• 
  Follow up on medication changes and clarify physician/provider orders as necessary.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Minimum of 2 years of PACU experience is required.
  
  
• 
  Valid Michigan license with active status, verified via LARA or Nursys.
  
  
• 
  Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
  
  
• 
  Proven skills in post-anesthesia care, including medication administration, patient assessments, and emergency response.
  
  
• 
  Strong ability to follow detailed physician orders and update care plans accordingly.
  
  
• 
  Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
