Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a 13-week day shift travel assignment at an acute care hospital in Salem, VA.

Details

• Work in the Respiratory Therapy department of a large acute care hospital with 500+ beds
• Day shift hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Rotating weekend coverage required
• Floating required to CICU, SICU, MICU, and step-down units
• Patient care includes basic floor therapies such as nebulizer treatments, CPT, nocturnal pulse oximetry, ABG collection, and BiPAP management
• Typical procedures include HHN, CPT, BiPAP and vent management, and extubation
• Equipment used includes EPOC Blood Gas Analyzer, PB 840, Newport, ReVel, LTV, and V60 ventilators
• EMR: Meditech

Requirements

• Active RRT credential required; license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy, with active experience within the last 6 months
• BLS and ACLS required (AHA or ARC accepted); certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
• Proficiency in basic floor therapies including nebulizer treatments, CPT, nocturnal pulse oximetry, and ABG collection is required
• BiPAP management experience required
• Vent management experience preferred; ICU experience preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Day shift team consists of 6 therapists including a charge person; night shift consists of 5 therapists including a charge person
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Staff of 30 respiratory therapists across shifts
