Tool and Die Maker

Pay: $25.00 - $41.00 per hour

Job description:

• Experienced and skilled in building, troubleshooting, repairing and preventive maintenance of Tooling and Dies.
• Experienced and skilled in understanding layouts, drawings, sketches and performing machining of components using drill press, milling machine, lathe, surface grinder, saw and other machines. Use of measuring equipment.
• Examine defective parts to determine cause of defect and repair.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• Familiar with metal stamping dies, fixtures, etc.
• Experience with tool steels and their applications.
• Experience with commonly stamped metals such as cold-rolled steels, hot-rolled steels and stainless steels.
• Participate actively in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and work from schematics and technical drawings to fabricate tooling components.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to ensure accuracy.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on dies and tooling to maintain optimal performance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
• Adhere to safety standards and best practices throughout all machining operations.
