DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

Setting up genetic crosses Processing samples for morphological analysis Collecting and analyzing data DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ANDABILITIES*: Drosophila husbandry Cryosectioning Immunofluorescence analysis Confocal Microscopy Polymerase ChainReaction and Isolation nucleic acids Job Summary Performs independent research in the field of study. Providestechnical support for research activities. Responsible forsupervising undergraduate students engaged in research. This position is considered limited-term staff since itutilizes contingent funding, which is currently only securedthrough June 30, 2027. Employment thereafter will be conditionalbased on the continued availability of funding. Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Engages in research activity: design and perform experiments, record and analyze data Assists in the preparation of reports, presentations, and manuscripts Supervises undergraduate research projects Assists with laboratory maintenance and organization Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of highereducation in the area of study Required Experience One (1) year relevant experience doing independent research in areaof study Preferred Qualifications Preferred Experience Experience training and supervising undergraduate students Experience in writing and preparing scientific manuscripts Preferred EducationalQualifications An advanced degree from an accredited institution of highereducation in a related field Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
