Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianWorthington Steel is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our Columbus team. We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with their hands, and keeping equipment running safely and reliably.We are open to a range of experience levels. Whether you have several years of industrial maintenance experience or are earlier in your maintenance career with strong mechanical skills and a willingness to learn, we'd like to hear from you. Position level and starting pay will be based on your experience, skills, and demonstrated capabilities.What You'll DoTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment throughout the facilityPerform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipmentWork with hydraulic and pneumatic systemsRead and use mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints and schematicsAccurately document maintenance work in our maintenance systemPartner with production and other team members to identify and resolve equipment issuesFollow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE, fall protection, and other applicable requirementsIdentify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and prevent recurring problemsWhat We're Looking ForWe're flexible on the number of years you've spent in maintenance and are interested in understanding what you can do.A strong candidate may have experience with some or all of the following:Industrial or manufacturing equipment maintenanceMechanical troubleshooting and machine repairHydraulics and pneumaticsWelding, cutting, and fabricationReading mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic printsUsing hand tools, power tools, meters, and measuring equipmentPreventive maintenanceBasic computer skills and maintenance work-order systemsMost importantly, we're looking for someone who works safely, takes ownership, solves problems, and is willing to continue learning and developing their maintenance skills.ShiftThis position rotates shifts monthly with the crew. Candidates must be willing and able to work all four schedules:Days: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.Afternoons: Monday–Friday, 2:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.Nights: Monday–Friday, 10:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m.Weekends: Friday–Sunday, 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.Compensation and BenefitsThe Maintenance Technician position may be filled at different levels depending on the selected candidate's experience and demonstrated skills.
