Accounting Assistant / Admin

About the Role:
This part-time position (approximately 20-30 hours per week) focuses on accounts payable, data accuracy, and core accounting support. It's a great opportunity for someone who enjoys detailed work and is looking to grow into broader accounting responsibilities over time, including month-end close, general ledger support, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and approvals
• Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices
• Enter and maintain financial data with a high level of accuracy
• Assist with payment processing (checks, ACH, etc.)
• Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records
• Respond to vendor and internal inquiries in a timely, professional manner
• Reconcile corporate credit card transactions and ensure proper documentation
• Maintain vendor and customer records, including required tax documentation
• Review and clean up data across systems to improve consistency and accuracy
• Support document organization and filing (digital and physical)
• Assist with account reconciliations and month-end close activities
• Provide general support to the accounting team as needed

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and/or experience in a similar role
• Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar) and ability to learn new systems quickly
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Highly organized with the ability to maintain structured records
• Clear and professional communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
