BSA Officer - Legacy State Bank

Administer and oversee the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Counter the Financing of Terrorism Act (CFT) Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and OFAC compliance programs.

Monitor transactions for suspicious or unusual activity using automated monitoring systems, Verafin and manual reviews.

Investigate alerts and determine whether suspicious activity warrants the filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).

Prepare, review, and submit SARs, Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), and other required regulatory filings within established deadlines.

Maintain and update the bank's BSA/AML/CFT policies, procedures, and risk assessments.

Conduct periodic BSA/AML/CFT risk assessments and recommend enhancements to internal controls.

Ensure compliance with FinCEN, FDIC, Federal Reserve and applicable state regulatory requirements.

Perform customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence reviews for high-risk customer and/or cash-intensive businesses.

Review OFAC alerts and sanctions screening results and resolve potential matches.

Coordinate independent BSA audits and regulatory examinations.

Respond to requests from law enforcement and regulatory agencies.

Develop and deliver BSA/AML/CFT compliance training for employees and the Board of Directors

Monitor regulatory changes and implement necessary updates to policies and procedures.

Prepare reports for executive management and the Board of Directors regarding BSA compliance activities.

Maintain accurate records and documentation supporting investigations and regulatory filings.

Collaborate with internal audit, compliance, operations, and business units to strengthen the bank's compliance program.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Accounting, or a related field preferred.

2-4+ years of experience in BSA/AML compliance, financial crimes, fraud investigations, or banking compliance.

Strong knowledge of: Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Counter the Financing of Terrorism Act (CFT), USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, OFAC requirements, FinCEN guidance, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Beneficial Ownership requirements

Experience preparing SARs and CTRs.

Familiarity with transaction monitoring and case management software.

Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Preferred Skills

Experience with BSA monitoring systems such as Verafin

Experience working with bank regulatory examinations.

Strong leadership and project management abilities.
