Job Details We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Engineer (Embedded Systems) to join our multidisciplinary engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career electrical/software engineer who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will help shape the development of next-generation high-power fiber lasers and amplifiers that incorporate emerging optical technologies and their supporting electronic systems, and you'll provide hands-on support for deployed systems in the field. Responsibilities Contribute to the software and firmware development of electronic systems containing embedded microcontrollers and FPGAs Support prototyping and bring-up of printed circuit boards, cable harnesses, and embedded hardware assemblies containing programmable devices Participate in testing and validation of new and existing electronics and software Create documentation including test plans/test reports, design notes, manufacturing instructions, interface control documents, and operating instructions Collaborate cross functionally to resolve issues during development, integration, transition to manufacturing, and field operation Infrequent travel for hands-on field support, conferences, etc. Other duties as required Minimum Qualifications B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline 0-2 years of relevant work experience Experience with embedded programming in C Experience with Verilog or VHDL Hands-on experience with prototyping, debugging, and testing embedded electronics Preferred Qualifications M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline Extensive experience with embedded programming in C; experience with Microchip products preferred Experience with PCB design, schematic capture, and layout; preferably using Altium Designer Familiarity with real time operating systems Experience with Xilinx and Intel FPGAs Equal Opportunity Employer Statement Attalon, Inc. is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
