Weighmaster- Truck Scale Operator

Weighmaster Position

Scrap Management Industries is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Weighmaster to operate the company truck scale and support daily scale house operations at our Kansas City location. This role is responsible for weighing inbound and outbound loads, collecting accurate transaction information, entering data, assisting customers, and ensuring documentation meets company and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is comfortable using computers, has strong customer service skills, and is available MondayFriday, 7:30 a.m.4:30 p.m., with some Saturday availability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Obtains required information from customers for all transactions, completes required purchasing and shipping documents, and conducts daily reconciliations.

Collect paperwork, weights, and load information, then accurately enter the information into the company database.

Reviews all documents to ensure regulatory and company requirements are met.

Perform heavy data entry and clerical tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.

Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and directing customers upon entry to the yard.

Verify incoming loads are safe and do not contain unacceptable material.

Ensure that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Provide general upkeep of the scale house.

Answer incoming calls as needed and direct inquiries appropriately.

Work effectively in a team environment while demonstrating professionalism, clear communication, and reliability.

Follow all safety practices including proper use of personal protective equipment.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Schedule:

MondayFriday, 7:30 a.m.4:30 p.m.; 1/2-day Saturday shift as needed.

Language:

English, bilingual Spanish (preferred)

Minimum Qualifications:

2 years' cash handling and direct customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Basic math, account reconciliation, computer, and data entry skills.

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers.

Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.

Willingness to work occasional off-hours, weekends, and holidays in an industrial environment, including outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Basic computer knowledge for work related purposes.

Bilingual skills are a plus.
