Field Superintendent

- Supervise and direct ironworker crews on assigned job sites.
- Plan daily and weekly work activities to meet project schedules.
- Read and interpret structural drawings, erection plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Coordinate steel erection, bolting, welding, decking, rigging, and related field activities.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA, company safety policies, and site-specific requirements.
- Conduct daily job briefings, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
- Monitor crew productivity, quality of work, and project progress.
- Coordinate with cranes, equipment operators, subcontractors, vendors, and general contractors.
- Verify materials, equipment, and tools are available and ready for scheduled work.
- Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, or delays in a timely manner.
- Inspect completed work for quality, alignment, fit-up, and compliance with project requirements.
- Complete daily reports, time records, safety documentation, and other required paperwork.
- Enforce company policies, attendance expectations, and job site rules.
- Mentor foremen, leadmen, and crew members.
- Communicate project needs, manpower requirements, and schedule concerns to management.
- Maintain a professional working relationship with customers, inspectors, contractors, and employees.
- Previous supervisory experience as a superintendent, foreman, or lead ironworker preferred.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel erection methods, rigging, connecting, bolting, welding, and decking.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, erection drawings, and project specifications.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and construction site safety practices.
- Ability to lead crews, assign work, and hold employees accountable.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel to job sites as required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening requirements.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Crane signaling and rigging certification preferred.
- Welding knowledge or AWS certification preferred.
- Experience working on commercial, industrial, or large structural steel projects.
- Experience managing multiple crews or large-scale erection projects.
- Ability to work in outdoor construction environments, including heat, cold, rain, and other weather conditions.
- Ability to climb, stand, walk, bend, lift, and work at heights as required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Must be comfortable working around cranes, heavy equipment, steel members, and active construction sites.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment.
