Job Description As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Alarm Response in Bronx, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will support residents, visitors, and staff through exceptional customer service and clear communication while responding to security-related concerns. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour Job Schedule: Mon: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM Tue: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM Wed: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM Thur: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM Sat: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and community partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate. Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem‑solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of shelter facilities, common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns. Monitor access points, observe visitor activity, and assist with maintaining orderly operations in accordance with site‑specific procedures. Prepare accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and shift handoff communications for security‑related events and observations. Minimum Requirements: Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience. Be at least 21 years of age. CPR certification is preferred. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred. Alarm panel experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
