Traveling Compliance Specialist

WE ARE HIRING: Traveling Affordable Housing Compliance Professionals Housing Consultants of America is expanding our elite national team and seeking experienced Affordable Housing Compliance Professionals ready to make an impact nationwide. This is a 1099 Independent Contractor role supporting affordable housing properties across the country. Consultants will deliver high-level compliance expertise through onsite assignments and/or remote engagements, including file reviews, audits, and consulting support. Consultant can be based anywhere in the USA. No relocation needed. $50/hour – Travel Assignments (with remote work opportunities in between traveling assignments paying $40/hr or a per file fee) Ability to obtain liability insurance and errors and omissions insurance on your own. Remote work is part time and will never be full time (only available to those who travel for us as additional work). More opportunities with traveling work. Traveling work can be anywhere in the USA. HCA pays for your air fare, hotel, and rental car plus provides a daily $60/day per diem for food. Background screening will be performed at consultants expense through our vendor. Traveling opportunities are usually 3 weeks at a time and are required at least once a quarter. Key Responsibilities Conduct onsite and remote file audits Process and review HUD & LIHTC certifications (Must know BOTH programs) Ensure regulatory compliance and documentation accuracy Complete EIV reviews and voucher transmittals Provide consulting support to property management teams Assist with HOTMA implementation and compliance updates Required Qualifications 7+ years of affordable housing compliance experience Proven expertise in both HUD and LIHTC programs (required) Strong working knowledge of EIV, voucher transmittals, and HOTMA Active COS or HCCP and TCS (Or similar LIHTC designation) required.
