Roman's, an ingredient-driven neighborhood Italian restaurant in Fort Greene, is seeking a full-time Server! We are a small team that works together to provide warm, thoughtful service to our guests and community and are hiring for a full-time position (4 shifts/week) that requires weekend and nighttime availability.

Key responsibilities:

• Bartenders at Romans serve a full bar of dining guests in addition to preparing cocktails for the rest of the dining room.
• Bartenders must be able to manage the steps of service in their section efficiently, while providing thoughtful hospitality
• Greet guests, guide them through the menu, input food and beverage orders into Square, provide timely service, and present an accurate guest check at the end of the meal
• Create a "Daily Bitter" and "Daily Sour" cocktail as part the set up for every bar shift
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of food and beverage offerings, ingredients, allergens, and menu details to tailor dining experiences, address special needs or occasions, and drive revenue
• Contribute to a positive kitchen-dining room relationship

Successful candidates will:

• Have 2+ years of hospitality experience and a desire to deepen one's knowledge of hospitality on every level
• Have a working knowledge of artisanal and Italian spirits
• Have exceptional interpersonal communication skills with strong multitasking abilities
• Be reliable, focused, organized, communicative, and curious
• Display keen attention to detail and spatial awareness
• Have a receptive and charitable attitude toward constructive feedback

When applicable and lawful, we deduct the tip credit of $5.65 / hour from the NY State minimum wage of $17.00 / hour. Compensation: Hourly ($17.00) plus tips
