Travel Registered Nurse ER Job

Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ER) travel assignment in a hospital setting, based in Plattsburgh, New York. Start date October 22, 2026 for 5 weeks. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult and pediatric ED patients, including rapid assessment, triage, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring
- Administer medications, start and manage IV access, and titrate drips per protocol; monitor patient response and adjust care as needed
- Operate and interpret cardiac monitors, perform EKGs, and respond to acute changes in patient status
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (physicians, CA II staff, crisis clinicians, and support personnel) to ensure timely and safe patient flow
- Document care and events in EPIC; educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and safety precautions
- Manage diverse ED presentations, including boarded and psychiatric patients, COVID-19 cases, and other complex needs; adapt to fluctuating census and patient acuity

Requirements
- Licensure: NY RN license or active proof of license application with applied date; NY license on file at submission; licensure processing may take 6-8 weeks
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC required (TNCC active or proof of class prior to start); NIHSS required prior to starting; ENPC equivalency acceptable
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical ER experience; 1 year in ER specialty; prior travel experience preferred
- Education: Associate or Bachelor degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- EMR: Epic experience within the past 2 years required
- Additional: Ability to work in a busy ED with patient-to-nurse ratios that may reach 1:5 or higher; NY-based practice and comfort with high census environments
