Registered Nurse (RN) - Wound CareWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse, specializing in Wound Care, to join our team. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for evaluating and assessing wounds and ostomies, performing wound care procedures, and providing education to patients and their families.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate and assess wounds/ostomies, perform wound care including dressing changes and debridement.Consult on inpatient cases as requested by physicians for wound/ostomy care.Act as a resource and educator for inpatient nursing staff on wound care, pressure ulcer prevention, and skin care.Engage inpatient nursing staff positively and empower them in providing wound and ostomy care.Provide ostomy care for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.Document all patient care and education clearly and accurately.Manage incontinence issues for patients with urinary and bowel dysfunction.Collaborate with other staff to ensure effective patient care.Prioritize patient safety and utilize proper precautions while performing care.Oversee outpatient ostomy patient scheduling and clinic visits.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of wound care and ostomy products.Participate in departmental and hospital-wide committees/projects.Perform other duties as assigned by the medical director or coordinator.Participate in emergency readiness protocols and attend staff meetings regularly.QualificationsEducation: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.License: Current RN license in Maine or compact license.Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire; CWOCN or CWS certification preferred.Experience: Less than 1 year experience preferred in wound care or related nursing fields.Skills: Strong communication abilities, teamwork, and multi-tasking skills.Additional InformationHoliday coverage may be required for this position.
