Property Accountant

Join a growing real estate organization as a Property Accountant! We're seeking an experienced Property Accountant with a strong background in multifamily property accounting to support the financial operations of a portfolio of residential properties. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and cash management while partnering closely with property managers and leadership. Responsibilities Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP Manage month-end close activities, including prepaids, accruals, and journal entries Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations Analyze financial results and provide variance explanationsMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Update weekly cash reporting and monitor cash balances Review vendor invoices and ensure accurate coding within Yardi Prepare supporting schedules for fixed assets, taxes, insurance, and other balance sheet accounts Assist with year-end audits and investor reporting requirements Partner with property management teams and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting Qualifications 4+ years of property accounting experience Multifamily property accounting experience required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Strong experience with: Financial statement preparation Prepaids and accruals Bank reconciliations Balance sheet reconciliations Month-end close Proficiency with Yardi. Advanced Excel skills. Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
