Key Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Special Education Teaching Certification (MI SPED) required
• Experience in elementary-level resource programs and/or cognitive impaired classrooms preferred
• Passion for individualized instruction and adapting curriculum to diverse learning needs
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families
• Ability to foster a supportive, encouraging classroom environment
• Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team with paraeducator and support supervision available

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive instruction and support to elementary students in the SPARK resource program and cognitive impairment classrooms
• Prepare individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student strengths and needs
• Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching methods as needed
• Collaborate with other educators, school staff, and families to ensure student success
• Integrate assistive technology and evidence-based practices into daily instruction
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to all compliance standards

You’ll be assigned to one school, working a steady schedule of 35 hours per week. Support from paraprofessionals, RBT, CNA, or LPN will be provided as needed, ensuring you can focus on instruction and student growth.
