The TL;DR Role: Early Career Type: Full-time Location: In-person Lexington, SC Team: Reports to a Senior Accountant and Controller Mission: Support the financial operations and month-end close processes by ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting. Tech Stack: Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) Payroll & HR software, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) What You’ll Actually Do Journal Entries: Create standard monthly journal entries, including inter-company, standard reclassification, and booking entries. Transaction Management: Edit, obtain approvals for, and post monthly journal entries prepared by other team members, while also printing and maintaining month-end audit trail documentation. Reconciliations & Reports: Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and assist in the preparation of month-end financial reports. Audits & Research: Coordinate and conduct audits of general ledger accounts and accounts payable vendors as directed, and research and respond to monthly P&L inquiry forms from field personnel. Financial System Support: Assist in general ledger report development and design, implement requested modifications, and help maintain the fixed asset sub-ledger. The Must-Haves Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; this is an entry-level accounting position. Experience: Required proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook. Skills: Strong attention to detail, proven problem-solving abilities, the capacity to work effectively under limited supervision, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
