Peoplelink Staffing is seeking dependable and hardworking Tugger Operators to support recycling and material handling operations in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for collecting, transporting, processing, and organizing recyclable materials while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace.

Tugger Operator Job Summary

• Collect, transport, and organize recyclable materials including cardboard, plastic, scrap, refuse, and wood pallets
• Safely load, unload, and move materials throughout the facility using tugger equipment and pallet jacks
• Assist with cardboard processing and baling operations
• Support recycling and material handling operations in assigned work areas based on daily operational needs
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas while following all safety and compliance procedures

Essential Functions

• Communicate professionally with supervisors, teammates, clients, and contractors at all times
• Operate in assigned work areas, which may change daily based on operational needs
• Safely transport, load, unload, stage, and organize recyclable materials
• Assist with operating balers and related equipment when trained and authorized
• Follow all company, client, safety, security, compliance, and quality standards
• Support a safe, respectful, and healthy work environment for all team members
• Maintain awareness of workplace hazards and report unsafe conditions immediately

Tugger Operator Responsibilities

• Operate tugger equipment to move recyclable materials throughout the facility
• Transport recyclables to designated processing, staging, or disposal areas
• Remove recyclable materials from trash and mixed waste streams
• Process cardboard by cutting, breaking down, and placing materials into gaylords, balers, or other designated collection areas
• Organize wood pallets manually or with pallet jacks and evaluate pallet condition for reuse or resale
• Assist with baler operations and follow all baler safety protocols
• Secure necessary tools and equipment at the beginning of each shift
• Ensure work equipment is cleaned and sanitized before, during, and after shifts
• Perform housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing, and cleanup of assigned work areas
• Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free workspaces
• Follow all PPE, safety, security, and operational procedures
• Communicate operational concerns, damaged equipment, or safety issues to supervisors promptly
• Support changing operational demands and assist in different work areas as assigned
• Attend meetings, training, and safety sessions as required
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Work Expectations & Physical Requirements

• Regular standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and physical movement throughout the shift
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and transport 10+ pounds for at least 75% of the shift
• Ability to work in warehouse, dock, and outdoor environments with varying temperatures and conditions
• Must wear assigned PPE and appropriate work attire at all times
• Ability to maintain productivity, attendance, quality, and safety standards
• Flexibility to adapt to changing operational needs and assigned work areas

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must meet all requirements for site access, including successful completion of a background check
• Previous experience in recycling, warehouse, material handling, or general labor environments preferred
• Experience operating tugger equipment, pallet jacks, or balers is a plus
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to follow safety procedures and supervisor direction
