The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the diverse world of agriculture while equipping them with the knowledge, technical skills, and leadership abilities necessary for success in the agricultural industry. This full-time position includes teaching agricultural science courses, advising the FFA chapter, and providing hands‑on learning opportunities that connect classroom instruction with real‑world agricultural experiences. The successful candidate will help foster a positive learning environment while building strong relationships with students, parents, and the community. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with Texas state standards and district curriculum goals. Teach courses in agricultural science, animal science, plant science, agribusiness, and related agricultural pathways. Incorporate hands‑on learning experiences, including labs, projects, field experiences, and industry‑based activities. Utilize current agricultural technologies and instructional strategies to support student learning. Serve as FFA Advisor, guiding students in leadership development, competitions, livestock shows, and events. Prepare and support students for FFA contests, conventions, and community service activities. Promote student leadership, responsibility, and career readiness through agricultural education programs. Collaborate with colleagues, industry partners, and community members to strengthen the Agricultural Education program. Maintain a safe, organized, and productive classroom and laboratory environment. Engage with parents and community stakeholders to promote the value and impact of agricultural education. Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support academic growth. Maintain accurate records of student performance and program activities. Encourage student participation and foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education, Agricultural Science, or a related field. Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in Agricultural Education. Strong knowledge of agricultural practices, technologies, and industry standards. Experience with FFA or other agricultural student leadership organizations preferred. Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and community partners. Commitment to professional development and continued growth in agricultural education. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required. Additional Requirements Currently hold or be willing to obtain a WSC Welding certification. Currently hold or be willing to obtain a Texas CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
