Job Summary:
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is needed to provide one-on-one support to a diabetic student at St. William the Abbot School in Seaford, NY. This role involves monitoring the student's health, assisting with diabetes management, and ensuring their well-being throughout the school day.

Job Summary:
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is needed to provide one-on-one support to a diabetic student at St. William the Abbot School in Seaford, NY. This role involves monitoring the student's health, assisting with diabetes management, and ensuring their well-being throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and document blood glucose levels , recognizing signs of hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia.
- Administer insulin or other necessary interventions based on the student's Individualized Healthcare Plan (IHP) and physician instructions.
- Assist with meal planning and snack management to help maintain stable blood sugar levels.
- Communicate with school staff, parents, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate health records and document any interventions provided.
- Follow emergency protocols in case of a diabetic emergency.
- Provide basic first aid and support as needed throughout the school day.
- Ensure compliance with school health policies and procedures while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Active CNA license (Certified Nursing Assistant) in New York.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Experience working with diabetic patients , preferably in a pediatric or school setting.
- Ability to recognize and respond to diabetic symptoms and emergencies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with children, parents, and school staff.
- Completion of reference checks and work history verification.
- Valid Social Security Number (SSN) card
