Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator

Under minimum supervision, the EHS Coordinator will be responsible for safety compliance, coordination and administration of training programs, incident management, and incident investigations. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for site safety, project safety, and monthly safety meeting coordination for all assets. The EHS Coordinator will communicate with Operations to ensure safety and operations training is scheduled and tracked to completion. This position will participate in internal and external audits, assist with environmental compliance, and support coordination of Process Safety Management elements.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates safety and operations training programs and tracks completion.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for site safety and project safety coordination.
  • Coordinates monthly safety meetings for all assets.
  • Supports incident management and incident investigations.
  • Coordinates emergency response drills.
  • Participates in internal and external audits.
  • Assists with environmental compliance and coordination of Process Safety Management elements.
  • Supports safety, PSM, and environmental compliance activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of safety compliance, site safety, project safety, incident management, and incident investigation practices.
  • Ability to coordinate training programs, safety meetings, and emergency response drills.
  • Ability to communicate with Operations and other stakeholders to schedule and track required training.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance and Process Safety Management elements.
  • Familiarity with applicable regulatory agency requirements, including RRC, OCC, ODEQ, OSHA, PHMSA, TCEQ, and EPA.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and documentation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally, as required by business needs.
Educat ion and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Occupational Safety, Environmental, or a related field; or equivalent knowledge demonstrated by work experience.
  • 3 years of EHS experience in oil and gas, midstream, refining, or chemical industry preferred.
  • 3 years of training program experience preferred.
  • 3 years of experience interacting with regulatory agencies such as RRC, OCC, ODEQ, OSHA, PHMSA, TCEQ, and EPA preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in NIMS, ICS, and emergency response preferred.
Certifications:
  • ASP, CSP, OHST, CFPS, CSHO, or related certification preferred.

Physical Demands and Hazard for Field Employees:

This position may require occasional travel to remote sites, potential exposure to flammable material, adherence to safety protocols, compliance with operating regulations, and will require rigorous physical demands.
