Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year! Dedicated individuals are needed for multiple contract roles across school settings in Lehigh and Carbon Counties, supporting students with a range of educational and behavioral needs.
Assignments begin August 10, 2026, with initial limited hours for Opening Day and Summer Academy, transitioning to a regular school calendar. Positions are located within approximately 35 minutes of Lehigh County, with placements tailored according to district needs and, when possible, your preferences. Openings span instructional and support roles across settings—including programs supporting multiple disabilities, enhanced autism, and emotional support.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 1 year of paraprofessional experience in a school or special education setting
- Residency within a 35-minute commute of assigned site, reliable transportation
- Availability for a school-day schedule, generally between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM
- Meet at least ONE Pennsylvania paraprofessional requirement (48 college credits, associate degree or higher, qualifying state/local assessment). If not yet certified, the credential must be completed within 60 days of hire
- Ability to provide two paraprofessional supervisor references
- Comfort supporting students with behavioral and physical needs, including potential for challenging behaviors, lifting, or toileting
- Commitment to reliability and punctuality
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct classroom and 1:1 support to students with diverse learning needs
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to foster inclusive educational environments
- Implement and reinforce academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports
- Maintain accurate, timely records as required by school policy
