HSOM-Open Rank-Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology Role: Open Rank Assignment Category: Full‑Time Payroll Status: Faculty 12 Responsibilities The STEP psychologist will have primary clinical and service responsibilities to the multidisciplinary STEP outpatient and STEP hospital consult continuity of care services. The psychologist collaborates with staff and other physicians on the STEP team, including the team psychiatrist, to provide STEP patient evaluations, behavioral management recommendations, and education. Key responsibilities include performing liaison work with STEP team providers, outpatient and hospital staff caregivers, Emergency Room nurses, social workers, and physicians in both hospital and outpatient settings to assist in managing the behavioral aspects of current and new STEP patients presenting to UAB. The psychologist attends STEP team meetings and participates in building out the consult service collaboratively to support the team, patients, and UAB system.
