Maintenance Technician

Midwood Investment & Development is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA (15222) at The Cork Factory and Lot 24. There are approximately 400 units at these two properties located in The Strip District.

This role is great for somebody who:

• Has technical knowledge
• Has good time management
• Likes to learn new things and take on new challenges
• Is a self starter but can work alone or on teams
• Is looking to grow into a career
• Enjoys servicing customers

Your main responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Completion of Apartment Turns (Basic Plumbing, Electrical, Drywall Repair, Painting, Appliance Repair/Replacement)
• Completion of Resident Work Orders (Plumbing, Electrical, etc.)
• Maintain grounds through trash management and landscaping
• Completion of special projects
• Rotation of on-call schedule
• Snow Removal during Winter Months

What We Look For

• High School diploma or GED
• 1-3 years of related experience
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, HVAC and/or carpentry
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets
• Availability for on-call activity during off hours for urgent needs
• Trade school or college degree is a plus! But not required

Responsibilities:

• Respond to resident work orders for plumbing, electrical, appliances, and other maintenance issues.
• Prepare apartments for new residents, including basic plumbing, electrical, drywall repair, painting, and appliance installation.
• Maintain the property grounds, including trash management and minor landscaping tasks.
• Take on special projects as needed.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for urgent after-hours needs.
• Handle snow removal during winter months.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, HVAC, and/or carpentry is a plus.
• Basic computer and tablet skills are required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.
• Availability for occasional on-call work.
• Trade school or college degree in a related field is a plus!
