Job Description We are seeking an experienced Float Pool Registered Nurse (Full Time) to support the launch and ongoing success of Washington, DC’s newest full‑service hospital. As part of a dynamic and mission‑driven team, the Float Pool RN delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care across multiple units based on real‑time staffing needs. Job Responsibilities / Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the District of Columbia (or compact license eligible for DC licensure). Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience in Medical‑Surgical. Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in at least one critical care area, including ICU, Emergency Department (ED), or Pediatric Emergency Department (Peds ED). Demonstrated ability to float between a minimum of two (2) units, including Medical‑Surgical and one (1) critical care unit. Proven ability to quickly adapt to different unit workflows, teams, and varying patient acuity levels. Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision‑making skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a patient‑first mindset. Current BLS certification required; ACLS and/or PALS required based on assigned units. Skills Ability to safely care for diverse patient populations across Med‑Surg and critical care environments. Quickly integrates into new units, workflows, and care teams with minimal orientation. Strong assessment skills with the ability to prioritize care in high‑acuity situations. Delivers compassionate, culturally competent care focused on patient safety and outcomes. Effectively manages competing priorities in fast‑paced clinical settings. Builds strong relationships with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, and leadership. Maintains professionalism and performance in dynamic and changing environments. Comfortable navigating electronic medical records (EMR) and clinical systems. Adheres to evidence‑based practices, regulatory standards, and hospital protocols.
