Project Engineer

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support major projects onsite in Boise, Idaho. This role involves providing project management support for Project Managers through effective communication, negotiation, scheduling, tracking, document control, and forecasting of costs and profitability. The position requires collaboration with superintendents, foremen, engineers, detailers, and management to deliver quality and profitable projects, with a focus on the plumbing scope.

Responsibilities

• Track, forecast, and report labor hours and material costs.

• Assist in the buyout/procurement process of major equipment and subcontracts.

• Expedite and track deliveries of major equipment/materials.

• Maintain a working knowledge of general conditions, work scope, and specifications of the project contract/subcontract.

• Maintain and control documents in compliance with standards as well as contractual compliance.

• Collaborate with field labor supervision to plan, organize, and schedule project work, including preparation of subcontract/contract integrated project schedule.

• Review contract drawings, detail drawings, and specifications.

• Prepare fabrication shop work package including detail drawing review, material take-off and buyout, and man-hour fabrication budget.

• Ensure full compliance with the Safety Program at the jobsite.

• Maintain regular attendance and promptness.

• Develop proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, One Drive, MS Teams, SharePoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Viewpoint Vista, Revit, and Stratus (training will be provided for many of these programs).

• Develop an understanding of construction sequencing, especially related to mechanical and plumbing scopes of work.

Essential Skills

• Experience in project engineering, mechanical construction, construction management, change order, RFI, and project management.

• Ability to estimate and understand plumbing and process piping.

• Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering is desired.

• Previous construction field experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

• Understanding of RFIs and ability to read and understand project plans related to the mechanical scope.

• Proficiency in Bluebeam and Procore is highly preferred.

• Knowledge of mechanical engineering, industrial construction, and scheduling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and piping knowledge.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
