This is a unique opportunity to join a growing and creative team to help push the boundaries of oligonucleotide synthesis technologies.This position reports to the Sr. Staff Scientist and is part of the Emerging Technologies Team located in Sunnyvale, CA and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Operate and maintain QC analysis of oligonucleotides (e.g. LC-MS, capillary electrophoresis, PCR, UV/vis quantification).Run and troubleshoot oligonucleotide synthesizers to support method development and scale-up, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support experimental design, data analysis, and reporting.Order and manage inventory of reagents, consumables, and lab supplies to ensure uninterrupted workflow.Adhere to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) protocols and promote a culture of safety and compliance.The essential requirements of the job includeBachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related field.2 or more years of hands-on experience in oligonucleotide synthesis or analytical chemistry, preferably in an R&D setting.Proficiency in LC-MS (ESI) operation and data interpretation.Ability to collaborate with engineers to safely operate custom and prototype tools and equipment.Physical/Environment Requirements:Ability to occasionally lift, move or carry equipment up to 10lbAbility to frequently work in a laboratory environment for extended periodsIt would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:NGS sample preparation and operation of NGS instruments.Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g. Python).Fluorescence imaging and use of plate readers.IDT, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
