Brake Press Operator - Weekend Shift

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities The Technical FSM Bending Machinist is responsible for using the brake presses and miscellaneous equipment to create, shape and customize materials into a variety of forms as dictated by mechanical prints while maintaining safety and quality standards. Read blueprints from designers and engineers Run bend and forming operations using standard dies Operate Manual Box Brake, Slip Roller and GMC Power Roller Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery Follow the work schedule as assigned, ability to layout the correct priorities for the work scheduled Ensure all parts produced is confirmed in SAP, tagged and stagged in proper locations Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery Perform Quality at The Source checks on made parts Accurately record actual labor estimates on all production orders Keep work area(s) clean and organized to 5S standards Adhere to all company policies and procedures Other duties as assigned What You Need to Succeed High school or equivalent Numeracy skills (press brake tonnage, nominal pressure, bending moment and bending force) Ability to check height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges and other precision‑measuring instruments Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and engineered drawings Ability to load and unload machines with various types of materials Ability to prioritize and problem solve SAP system experience Basic Lean Manufacturing understanding Ability to multi‑task Ability to perform duties using imperial and metric measurements Ability to follow written and oral instruction Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. and work in multiple positions (i.e. stand, sit, lay, squat, bend, kneel) for prolonged periods of time Ability to work in a high‑paced environment Basic equipment setup knowledge Detail oriented Dexterity, good hand and eye coordination Safety Awareness Overtime may be required based on business needs This position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing as permitted by law.
