Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring ACLS certification and prior cardiac medical/procedural nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Cardiac Med/Surg unit of a hospital setting with 23 beds and 1 treatment room
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment length
• Patient ratios of 1:4 for days/evenings and 1:5 for nights
• Cardiac medical patient population including hemodynamically stable MI, acute/chronic HF, new onset Afib with or without RVR, and stable dysrhythmias
• Care for procedural patients including cardiac caths (radial or femoral) without interventions, ablations, cardioversions, ICD, pacers, and Cardio MEMs
• Manage patients on cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Diltiazem, renal dose Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Lasix up to 40mg, and insulin drips
• Additional patient populations include ICU transfers, neuro patients (CVA), and pulmonary patients requiring Bipap, Hi-flow, and Salter
• Utilizes telemetry monitoring equipment with some hard-wired rooms, vein finder for IV therapy, continuous and portable pulse oximetry, and mechanical lifts
• Uses Allscripts EMR with medication scanning capabilities and soft-lab
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within like areas

Requirements

• Active RN license (NH or Compact) currently in hand
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Cardiac telemetry knowledge and skill set required
• Knowledge/skill set for cardiac medical and procedural patients (caths) and cardiac drips required
• Strong medical-surgical knowledge/background with telemetry preferred
• No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac medical and procedural patients
• Best personality fit includes being engaging, team-oriented, flexible/adaptable, and patient-centered
• Hospital scrubs required for dress code
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
