Job Type: Contract / Travel Assignment
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift | 3x12 Hours | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | 36 Hours/Week
Pay: Travel: $1,200 - $1,240/Week
Schedule: Every Other Weekend Required | On-Call Based on Staffing Needs

Position Overview

We are seeking an adaptable LPN/LVN to provide direct patient care in a 14-bed Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Overflow unit supporting emergency department boarder patients.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience required.

• Previous Emergency Department or Med/Surg/Telemetry experience strongly preferred.

• EPIC EMR experience required.

• Active, unrestricted New York State LPN/LVN license required.

• Active BLS certification required.

• Pending licenses not accepted.

• First-time travelers are welcome.

• Local candidates within a 75-mile radius will not be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine admissions and monitor vital signs and blood glucose levels.

• Follow infection-control and isolation precautions.

• Report changes in patient condition to the supervising RN or physician using SBAR or verbal reporting.

• Administer oral, IM, SQ, ear, and eye medications safely.

• Provide care and management for feeding tubes, NG tubes, and G-tubes.

• Perform female and male Foley catheter insertions.

• Administer oxygen through nasal cannula and face masks.

• Assist with patient hygiene, bathing, and ambulation.

• Provide structured reports for patient transfers and admissions.

• Collaborate with RNs and physicians to provide safe patient care.

• Float to general Med/Surg patients as required based on rotation.

• Provide direct patient care and do not assume unit assignment control or charge responsibilities.
