Position Overview

Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Communications Specialist to support a growing communications team within a large healthcare-related organization. This individual will play a key role in developing, reviewing, and coordinating a variety of communications materials, presentations, digital content, and member-facing communications.

The ideal candidate will combine strong written communication skills with project coordination abilities and experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role offers the opportunity to support strategic communications initiatives, stakeholder outreach efforts, events, and educational programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, edit, review, and coordinate communications materials for internal and external audiences.
• Create and update PowerPoint presentations, reports, marketing materials, and informational resources.
• Assist with website content updates, email communications, newsletters, and member communications.
• Support communication review and approval workflows to ensure content accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to manage communications projects from concept through completion.
• Help coordinate virtual and in-person events, webinars, conferences, and outreach initiatives.
• Assist with event logistics, presentation materials, attendee communications, and project timelines.
• Track project deliverables, deadlines, and approval processes.
• Maintain organized documentation and communicate project status updates to stakeholders.
• May participate in presentations, educational sessions, and outreach activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Health Administration, Public Policy, Journalism, or a related field. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of specific degree focus.
• 5 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, marketing, corporate communications, healthcare communications, or a related field.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and presentation development skills.
• Experience creating professional PowerPoint presentations and communications materials.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes and procedures.
• Experience coordinating projects across multiple stakeholders and departments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting healthcare, health insurance, employee benefits, public sector, education, or regulated industries.
• Familiarity with member communications, healthcare communications, or benefit plan communications.
• Experience planning or supporting webinars, conferences, workshops, or outreach events.
• Experience working with external vendors, agencies, or cross-functional teams.
• Comfort presenting information to internal or external audiences.

• Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced PowerPoint proficiency
• Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Content management systems and digital communications platforms preferred
• Project coordination and workflow management tools preferred
