Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our fast‑growing team. The ideal candidate will have a can‑do attitude, strong problem‑solving skills, and an active EPA Certification. Job Responsibilities Diagnose causes of problems and failures in heating/air conditioning systems, refrigeration systems, and food service equipment to identify repair and replacement needs. Perform maintenance, service repairs, install new units, or replace parts of existing units according to specifications of 15 tons+. Maintain larger preventive‑maintenance contracts with more than 5 units. Repair or replace defective parts in units, equipment, and their controls. Service and troubleshoot mini‑splits and replace smaller RTUs and mini‑splits for 15 tons or less. Communicate with Dispatch to ensure completion of scheduled jobs. Maintain preventive‑maintenance schedules and procedures for customers. Provide elite customer service to every customer encountered. Accountabilities Continual learning and development through FirstCall Academy to set the bar for skill level in the industry. Maintain elite level of customer service to ensure the company remains the first choice for HVAC needs. Qualifications Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. Active EPA Certification. 5+ years of experience in a commercial HVAC setting. OSHA 10 Certification. Manufacturer Certification is preferred. Available to work flexible hours and on‑call shifts as needed. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills. Behavioral Profile Language Skills : Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write correspondence; effectively communicate with customers by checking in and out on jobs; explain problems and resolution in an understandable manner; closely communicate issues, concerns, and updates with account managers. Mathematical Skills : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret graphs. Reasoning Ability : Apply common sense to follow instructions; handle problems with several concrete variables; prioritize multiple tasks; help lead over and teach helpers and Tech I’s. Physical Demands : Regularly use hands; stand, walk, and sit; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; lift or move up to 50 pounds; vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth vision, and focus adjustment.
