Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive care to laboring mothers and their newborns. The RN will perform sterile vaginal exams and triage patients, ensuring high standards of care and safety. This role requires expert experience in the L&D field and the ability to work independently without supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct sterile vaginal examinations and assist with patient triage.
• Provide care and support to mothers during labor and delivery.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and fetal heart rates.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records using the EPIC charting system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Must possess a valid RN license or COMPACT license.
• ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BCLS, and NRP certifications required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery preferred; 1.5 years may be considered based on expertise.
• Must have previous experience with sterile vaginal exams and triage.
