Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Float Pool

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Days & Nights Available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across a MedSurg/Telemetry float pool, with primary assignment to units ranging from 20 to 36 beds, including potential float to a Critical Care unit
• Monitor, read, and interpret cardiac telemetry strips using Philips monitoring systems; unit monitor techs are available on most units
• Care for patients with diagnoses including CHF, chest pain, cardiac catheterization, pneumonia, COPD, chronic renal disease, orthopedic conditions, and oncology (travel staff will not administer chemotherapy)
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of approximately 1:5–6, with acuity-based adjustments; CNAs are available on all units for support
• Report to the clinical coordinator's office prior to shift start for unit assignment; float pool RNs will primarily be assigned basic telemetry patients within their scope of practice
• Adhere to weekend rotation requirements (every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday) and participate in the holiday rotation schedule alongside permanent staff

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must successfully pass a facility cardiac rhythm examination prior to assignment
• Ability to read and independently interpret cardiac telemetry strips
• Valid, unexpired driver's license required – copy must be submitted with application
• Candidate must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a MedSurg/Telemetry setting with exposure to cardiac, pulmonary, renal, orthopedic, or oncology patient populations
• Experience working in a float pool or multi-unit environment
• Familiarity with Philips telemetry monitoring systems
