Structural Engineer (PE or QPSI) – Parking Structure Inspections | NYC Hybrid A1 Personnel is seeking a Structural Engineer to join a leading restoration and inspection firm in the New York City metro area . This is a hands‑on, leadership‑track role focused on parking structure inspections, Local Law 126 compliance , and building envelope restoration projects across NYC. We’re open to candidates with either: An active QPSI certification , or A Professional Engineer (PE) license plus 3+ years of direct parking garage inspection experience You’ll lead field inspections, manage client coordination, and mentor a small team while helping deliver clear, DOB‑compliant reports and repair designs. Conduct and lead NYC Local Law 126 inspections of parking structures and garages Prepare DOB‑compliant inspection reports with detailed structural assessments and repair recommendations Oversee field documentation , client meetings , and coordination with contractors and internal design teams Develop construction drawings and specifications ; support construction administration through RFIs, submittals, and punch lists Mentor junior engineers and support ongoing technical training within the team Active QPSI certification – or PE license with 3+ years of experience inspecting parking structures (QPSI sponsorship offered) 6+ years of total structural engineering experience in inspection, restoration, or building envelope projects Strong understanding of structural systems, deterioration mechanisms, and NYC DOB codes Excellent technical writing and communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects and meet reporting deadlines Full‑time | Hybrid (NYC office + field work across the city) Must be local to NYC or open to relocation prior to start Competitive salary + annual bonus eligibility 401(k) with company match Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage Paid time off + holidays Play a key role in maintaining and restoring some of New York City’s most essential structures .
