A CNC Machine Operator is responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts and components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role involves machine setup, operation, inspection of finished products, and maintaining a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC lathes, mills, routers, grinders, and other automated machining equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Load raw materials and machine tools into CNC equipment.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet required specifications.
- Perform routine quality inspections using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Make minor machine adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
- Replace worn cutting tools and perform basic machine maintenance.
- Record production data and inspection results.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or production issues.
- Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
