Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 13-Week Assignment | Three 12-hour shifts per week; two weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
• Perform IV starts, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Operate and monitor unit equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, and bladder scanners
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Conduct bedside shift reports and actively include patients and family members in the plan of care
• Float to other units as needed per contract labor floating policy

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience
• Ability to prioritize care and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with IV insertion and general Med/Surg clinical skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Neuro Med/Surg setting
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
• Experience working in a Comprehensive Stroke or Trauma-certified facility
