Full Time | Sherwood, AR | $15 to $18 per hour depending on experience

Fort Thompson Sporting Goods is looking for a full time Wader Specialist to join our team. This is a customer focused sales position with an emphasis on waders, boots, safes, and outdoor gear.

You will work directly with customers to help them find the right products for their needs, whether that means getting the proper fit in a new pair of waders, choosing the right boots, or helping someone select a safe for their home. A big part of this position is learning our products and being able to confidently answer questions and make recommendations.

You do not need to be an expert on everything we carry when you start. We will help you learn our products and brands. We are looking for someone who is dependable, personable, willing to learn, and comfortable talking with customers.

What You’ll Do

• Help customers find the right waders and boots based on fit, use, and personal needs
• Learn our wader brands and develop strong product knowledge
• Assist customers with selecting and purchasing safes
• Learn the features, sizes, and differences between the safes we carry
• Help customers with boots, dog training supplies, and other outdoor products
• Assist with warranty returns and in house wader testing
• Keep your department stocked, organized, clean, and ready for customers
• Help receive, move, and organize merchandise as needed
• Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service throughout the store
• Occasionally participate in social media content and product videos

What We’re Looking For

• Someone who enjoys talking with people and helping customers find the right product
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Dependability and a good work ethic
• Willingness to learn about waders, safes, boots, and the other products we carry
• An interest in hunting, fishing, or the outdoors is a plus, but previous outdoor industry experience is not required
• Retail or sales experience is a plus
• Comfortable working in a fast paced retail environment
• Comfortable appearing in occasional social media content
• Ability to work Saturdays is required

Schedule and Pay

This is a full time position only .

Pay ranges from $15 to $18 per hour depending on experience .

Saturdays are required.
