Child Health Certified Medical Assistant

Wake County Public Health Clinics provide services to all eligible Wake County residents regardless of race, background, or circumstance. We are currently seeking a skilled Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join #TeamWake!

The Child Health Certified Medical Assistant position is part of a team that provides preventive and primary health services that support the growth, development, and overall well-being of children. The Child Health clinic operates Monday through Friday. As a Certified Medical Assistant you will:

• Receive delegated tasks from Registered Nurse
• Measuring and recording of vital signs
• Maintain examination rooms by ensuring they are properly prepared for use by health providers and clients.
• Administer vaccinations
• Collect lab specimens
• Assist with managing supplies
• Document in electronic medical record (EMR) per policy
• Clean the work areas as directed by OSHA regulations

NOTE: Upon acceptance of employment, you acknowledge that (i) if you work in the Health Clinics and Public Health Division, influenza immunization is a condition of initial and continued employment, subject to compliance with federal law, (ii) actively supports and participates in department emergency preparedness and response activities, which may include temporary changes in responsibilities and working hours.

In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
