NCC Adjunct Faculty- Mechanical Engineering and Design

Adjunct Teaching Positions Available Nashua Community College is seeking qualified individuals who are interested in adjunct teaching on a course-by-course basis; strong academic background is required. Adjunct appointments are temporary, for a specified contract period, and may requirein classroom or online instruction as indicated. We have a need for instructors for the following courses in our Mechanical Engineering and Design program for the Spring 2026 semester, which run from January 20, 2026 to May 9, 2026. CADN112N - CAD II - CADD II This course will continue the study of graphical communication exploring advanced 3D Solid Modeling, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, manufacturing methods, spring, and cam design. Students will learn all of the components necessary to design in a 3D environment including solids, surfaces, parts and assemblies, applying materials, and creating animated assemblies. This class meets Tuesdays/Thursdays from 6pm-9:20pm. CADN131 - Technical Drawing This course covers the basics of drafting fundamentals including blueprint reading, measurement, geometric construction, orthographic projection, section views, auxiliary views, dimensioning and tolerancing, threads and fasteners. All work is performed using current CAD software (SolidWorks) on personal computers. This course is designed for the Precision Manufacturing student. This class meets Tuesdays from 6pm-9:30pm. ELTM204N - Fluid Power Design The dynamics of liquids and gases encountered in traditional manufacturing, industrial automation, and vehicular applications. This class meets Thursdays from 6pm-8:30pm. MDTN110N - Automation Programming Students will learn the basic concept of programming a robot. Students will design, construct, and program robots and machinery for varied design applications. Robots will be both benchtop and IR controlled. Laboratory exercises complement classroom instruction. This class meets Mondays from 5:30pm-9:45pm. MDTN285N - Mechanical Engineering Capstone Students work in teams under the direction of a faculty advisor to complete an engineering design project. Students will create a mockup of their design leading to the development of a prototype to test and verify the effectiveness of their design. Students will present their design and prototype to the Technologies Department Advisory Board for evaluation. This class meets Wednesdays from 6pm-9:30pm. MTTN201N - Lean and Green Manufacturing This course introduces the student to the fundamentals of Lean Six Sigma and the philosophies of Dr. W. Edwards Deming and the Toyota Way. These methodologies include production, process and inventory control, continuous improvement methods and how they apply to concepts of Lean Six Sigma. In addition, the application of these philosophies in plant management, safety, waste analysis and workflows will be studied and applied. Green manufacturing innovations, ISO 14000 standards and processes will also be reviewed. Case studies of existing plants will be used in the course. Guest lecturers and possible plant tours to see these topics in action will be part of the course as schedules permit. This class meets on Mondays from 6pm-8:50pm. Minimum qualifications: The candidate will have an Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or fifteen years' experience in mechanical engineering/design. The salary range for this position is $825-$975 per contact hour. The rate will be determined by the appointed adjunct faculty rank, which is based on education and industry and/or teaching experience.
