Pharmacist - Travel Job

We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist for a travel contract in Tucson, AZ at a hospital setting. The Pharmacist will ensure safe, accurate, and efficient distribution of medications for patients of all ages in accordance with state and federal law, DEA regulations, TJC standards, and hospital policies. Responsibilities include collaborating with physicians on drug selection and dosing, educating nursing staff and patients, participating in medication safety initiatives, maintaining patient profiles, reporting adverse drug reactions, preparing IV admixtures and nutritional supplements, and maintaining narcotic accountability. Cerner EHR is used in the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Active Arizona Pharmacist license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years inpatient acute hospital pharmacy experience required.
• Experience with IV admixtures, medication safety, narcotic accountability, and collaborative practice with multidisciplinary teams.
• Cerner EHR experience preferred.
• Board certification and/or accredited pharmacy residency preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Board certified or completion of an accredited pharmacy residency.
• Experience working in a 44-bed acute care unit or similar hospital environment.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 2000 - 0700.
• Schedule pattern: 7 nights on / 7 nights off.
• Workdays: Wednesday through Tuesday during scheduled weeks.
• Hospital pharmacy will be open on recognized holidays.
• Must be able to perform inpatient hospital pharmacy duties and mix IV admixtures.
