Security Engineer III

Serco is seeking a highly motivated Security Engineer III. In this role, you will provide technical leadership in the design, implementation, sustainment, and continuous improvement of cybersecurity capabilities across mission systems and product lines. Working closely with government customers, program leadership, engineers, system administrators, and other stakeholders, you will help ensure cybersecurity compliance, operational effectiveness, and risk reduction in a dynamic, mission-focused environment. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to critical national security initiatives while supporting on-site customer operations.

As a Security Engineer, you will:

• Provide technical leadership in the design, implementation, sustainment, and continuous improvement of cybersecurity capabilities supporting mission systems and product lines.
• Collaborate closely with government customers, program leadership, system administrators, engineers, developers, and other internal and external teams to ensure cybersecurity compliance and operational effectiveness.
• Manage and complete the tasks in a fast-paced results driven environment.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5 years of cybersecurity experience.
• An active Secret clearance.
• An active Security+ certificate.
• Demonstrated experience with Linux, Windows, enterprise networking, and cloud-based infrastructures.
• Proven experience with the Army RMF process, NIST cybersecurity standards, DISA STIGs, POA&M, security automation, and vulnerability management tools and processes.
• Ability to perform technical risk analysis, communicate findings clearly, and develop practical remediation recommendations.

Additional desired qualifications:

• Knowledge of Army PPB BOS financial processes
• Experience with software development life cycle
• Knowledge of A&A Processes, including ACAS and AESS deployments
• Experience supporting cloud cybersecurity architectures, preferably in AWS environments
• Knowledge of stakeholder collaboration (with Army stakeholders, AO, Security Control Assessors, etc.)
• Knowledge of version control software (Git etc.), ticket tracking system (JIRA, etc.)
