Electrical Engineering Technician

Compliance EngineerIn this role you'll work closely with the Compliance Engineers. You will assist with product preparation and test, interface with regulatory bodies to plan and execute product and component certifications. Support the development and realization of automated test systems and manage test assets. Install and setup test samples and infrastructure (equipment).You'll be required to work on extra-low voltage, low voltage and high voltage systems both within the Tesla Laboratory and external testing facilities. Maintain ISO 17025 QMS accreditation, and the smooth running of the laboratory including the purchasing of consumables, equipment and services including calibration management.A high degree of integrity and ethics are required for this regulatory role.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and instrument test samples, execute tests, record, and analyze results on power electronics and battery storage systems3D CAD skills (preferred), schematic captureAssist with testing at in-house and local contract laboratoriesSupport the debug of products and sub-systemsSupport the build and test of automated test equipment and peripheralsRework prototypes and printed circuit board assembliesCarry out duties as defined by the engineersContribute to server rack building/debugging, mechanical fixture setup/teardown, and harness buildsOperate tests using environmental chambers for thermal/humidity, vibration, and related equipmentDesign, build, and dismantle mechanical fixtures, often using T-slotted aluminum extrusionRequirementsDegree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience2 years + of experience in an engineering development environment, with NEC NFPA 70 experience, previous lab environmentStrong understanding of engineering fundamentals, High Voltage/Power Electronics experienceStrong soldering, electronics fabrication/prototyping, mechanical fabrication/prototyping skills, and wire harness skillsExperience with sensors (ex.
