Technical Writer II (on-site)

divh2Technical Writer II/h2pISHPI is seeking a Technical Writer II (on-site) to support the Command and Control Afloat Integration Support (C2AIS) for the U.S. Coast Guard Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber and Intelligence Service Center (C5ISC) in Portsmouth, VA. This role will manage the supported systems of the C5ISC and provides services to include system engineering, software engineering, hardware engineering, network engineering, test engineering, electronic engineering, and technical writing./ph3Responsibilities/h3pProvides support in the preparation and/or maintenance of systems documentation, procedures and methods, and maintenance of documentation library as required. Revises or writes material that is mostly standardized for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment. Receives assignment and technical information from a supervisor or senior writer, provided notes or manuals containing operating procedures and details, and may observe production, developmental or experimental activities to expand or verify the provided operating procedures and details. Accesses information from blueprints, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.
