Job Description

Provides specialized, high-acuity nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients in the CVICU, including those undergoing pre- and post-operative management of open heart surgery. The RN is responsible for continuous hemodynamic monitoring, advanced life support interventions, and management of complex therapies such as intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP) and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). Demonstrates expert clinical judgment and rapid response to changes in patient condition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care for patients before and after open heart surgery
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data and cardiac rhythms
• Manage advanced devices including IABP and CRRT
• Administer critical medications, titrate vasoactive drips, and support ventilated patients
• Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery expectations
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and adhere to ICU protocols and standards

Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification (required)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience

The expected pay for this position is listed below:
$35.00 - $42.50

The final pay rate offered may be more than the posted range based on several factors including but not limited to: licensure, certifications, work experience, education, knowledge, demonstrated abilities, internal equity, market data, and more.
