Director of Finance

About the Role Hyatt seeks a Director of Finance who embraces agile principles, collaborates cross‑functionally, and drives strategic financial planning to support the hotel's objectives and profitability. This role reports to the General Manager and directs all financial operations of the hotel. Responsibilities Financial Statement Management: Prepare and review all monthly and annual financial statements, investigate variances, involve department managers, identify improvements, and execute corrective measures. Accounting Operations: Manage and lead hotel on‑ and off‑site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting, and analysis, including budgeting, month‑end close, accounting, and cash management. Business Planning: Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual business plan aligned with objectives. Year‑End Process: Complete the year‑end process, review and approve all reconciliations and audit work papers, coordinate external audits, respond to auditor requests, approve adjustments, and reconcile audited report to hotel information. Internal Controls & Risk: Ensure adherence to HMA terms and reporting obligations, maintain internal‑control policies and segregation of duties, and stay updated on industry trends, legislative changes, and organizational behavior. Operational Leadership: Mentor and coach the finance team, support future leaders in all hotel areas, empower employees with financial insights, supervise IT and procurement, understand hotel operations, and cultivate a change‑receptive environment. Business Partnering: Collaborate with management to devise and implement cost‑efficiency and revenue‑generation initiatives, nurture relationships with owners’ representatives and key stakeholders, and embody a growth mindset. Qualifications 5+ years of finance career progression; preferred experience in hospitality, retail, or related industry. 2+ years in Director‑level leadership within hospitality or complex environments. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, Business or related field preferred. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds. Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
