Job Summary:
The position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at a healthcare facility located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing critical care to pediatric patients with complex medical needs in a high-acuity hospital setting. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Madison, WI
• Shift Hours: 12-hour shifts, 19:00 to 7:30, evening/night shifts
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 48 hours
• Certifications and Education: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), PALS; Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
• Experience: At least 3 years of acute care experience, with strong pediatric ICU background, including at least 1 year of cardiovascular experience; 2 years of recent ICU experience within the last 3 years in a high-acuity hospital.
• EMR System: Epic and Meditech experience required.
• Additional Qualifications: Trauma Level 1 experience preferred, teaching hospital experience required, and proficiency with Cerner EMR for some professionals.

Operational Details:

• Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents
• Patient Census: Approximately 18 patients daily
• Unit Type: Pediatric ICU with a level 1 trauma designation, handling complex medical and surgical cases including neurological, cardiac, pulmonary, and transplant patients.
• Special Procedures: End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, arterial line management, intubation, ECMO, CRRT, and other advanced critical care procedures.
• Float Requirements: Floating to other pediatric units or general care may be required within scope of practice.
• Start Date: 07/20/2026
• Schedule: 12-hour evening/night shifts, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend and some holidays required.

Submission Requirements:

• Minimum of two submissions.
• Candidates must pass strict Telemetry exam and a Pediatric and Adult cardiac rhythm interpretation test, with up to three attempts allowed.
• Recent inpatient ICU experience of at least two years within the last three years is mandatory.

Additional notes:

• Candidates must have explored housing options in the area prior to submission.
• Travelers are required to float as needed, within their scope of practice.
