Cafeteria Worker

To assist with a variety of cooking, baking, preparing and serving of food items for general consumption by students and school personnel and to maintain facilities and equipment in safe and sanitary condition. Operate the district's computerized point of sale system & handle cash and check transactions. Maintain a clean and safe work area in HISD cafeteria.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Texas driver's license.
• Previous experience in food preparation.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Strong communication skills.

Equipment Used Includes but is not limited to: Electric slicer, mixer, pressure steamer, deep-fat fryer, sharp cutting tools, oven, dishwasher, and food/utility carts.

Mental/Physical/Environmental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, walking, pushing, and pulling; moderate lifting and carrying; some stooping, bending, and kneeling. Limited exposure to extreme heat and cold. FLSA: Exempt
